The Fountain Room offers a mixed experience. While the hostess could use some improvement in how she interacts with customers, the bar staff more than makes up for it. Bartender Peter and barback Zach provide excellent service, ensuring a pleasant time at the bar. The Oaxacan was a standout drink, perfectly crafted and delicious. Despite the initial greeting, The Fountain Room remains a worthwhile visit for its quality beverages and attentive bar service.
We came here for brunch I'm glad we did. We started off with the biscuits Basket. They were good the butter and jam that came with it helped. The service is out of this world good. Our waiter explained and answered all our questions. The music was at a great level and playing great tunes
Started off with the lobster bisque. Perfectly rich and creamy. I'd eat that everyday. The pork shank was an unusual order for me, but the waiter recommended it. The man knew what he was talking about though, because it was juicy, tender and flavorful. It comes with a creamy polenta, mushrooms and a demi glaze. I ate the whole thing. My girlfriend got the meatloaf, but it was kinda dry and way too peppery. Wouldn't order that again. Everything else way yummy though.
Really enjoyed our happy hour at The Fountain Room! I enjoyed the circle city cosmo, which had an amazing flavor with the rhubarb addition and I will definitely return just to have this drink again. We went a little early for dinner, so we just split a bunch of apps, two of which were part of the happy hour special. We had amazing service (shout out Zacharias) and the interior was beautiful.
10/10. It's a fancier spot - the decor and ambience is elegant and chic, without being overly haughty. Note: They have a new happy hour food menu, definitely recommend the prime rib slider! Sitting at the bar is always a good time.
Loved this upscale but unassuming restaurant where everything is hoppin' on Mass Ave. Metered parking spots on the street are hard to find - I chose to use the public parking at the end of the street for $6.00 with a short, pleasant walk to the restaurant. My waygu burger was perfectly cooked, with cheddar cheese, bacon, and jam on a brioche bun with truffle fries. The lobster bisque was nice and creamy, with some large lobster pieces. Our server Carlie was attentive without being overbearing and let us take our time. My friends enjoyed the meatball appetizer dish, lettuce wedge salad, and barbecued ribs. Recommend reservations.
I've had The Fountain Room on my list since it opened, but it just seemed like the kind of place you needed to be celebrating something to go to. I finally got the chance to try it today. It was a hit with all of my family members which is hard to do. We stopped in around 10 when they opened on a Sunday for brunch. I made a reservation before since I wasn't sure but we really didn't need one. There were several other groups of people dining in but we were all spread out so it still felt fairly private. The brunch menu is short and sweet but it seems like you can't go wrong with anything you choose. My mom had the biscuits and gravy breakfast, which she loved. My brother had the wagyu burger but his favorite was the side of breakfast potatoes. He raved about the potatoes. I had the French dip sandwich with a side of fruit. The sandwich was delicious. My only complaint is I was expecting more heat from the horseradish, but it's still the best French dip sandwich I've ever had. We started with the Brie brûlée and coffee, which was also delicious. All the staff were friendly. Our server Carly was great! The decor is definitely a vibe. We're already planning our next trip back.
I've been for both brunch and dinner and have had good experiences! The restaurant itself is absolutely stunning and the food is pretty good too! The Wagyu meatloaf is very moist and has good flavor. The lobster bisque is also one of the best I've had. Would definitely recommend.
I finally made it here to grab a bite to eat! And if you know me, you know it was to try their brunch ;) The atmosphere of the interior is unique and glam. The service was stellar - out host was attentive and had some great menu suggestions! I went with my girlfriends and we had a fun time drinking their mimosas and sharing their Brie Brûlée for appetizer; the pistachio crunch and slight sweetness from the honey created a uniquely satisfying flavor. The bread that comes with is perfectly crisp and soft pair. We also ordered the Burrito, Benedict, and Lobster Bisque Soup. All worth a try!
This was the perfect spot for a birthday dinner. Not mine, but I definitely enjoyed myself! We started off with a beer and the Lobster & Crab Dip. They didn't skimp on the lobster and crab! My husband ordered the Prime Rib. It was cooked perfectly. I had the Seared Scallops. They were so tender, they practically melted in my mouth. When I saw they come on a bed of cauliflower parsnip puree, I wasn't sure about it. But it was divine! For sides, we got the Whipped Potatoes and Brussels Sprouts. Those Brussels Sprouts were the best I've had! There's so much deliciousness in that dish...bacon, blue cheese crumbles, bourbon. Can't wait to get those again!! Service was fantastic! Our server was attentive and very patient. I loved the decor too. It's chic but fun. I'm looking forward to our next visit!
